InMage & Tampa Bay Lightning Scheduled to Present at Storage Networking World 2011
- Presentation will Highlight the Tampa Bay Lightning’s Backup and Disaster Recovery Implementation Based on InMage Solutions -
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – October 11, 2011 – InMage® (www.inmage.com), the leading independent software vendor of disk-based, business application recovery and cloud computing solutions, will be presenting a case study on its implementation with the Tampa Bay Lightning at the Storage Networking World (SNW) Fall 2011 Conference, one of the world’s largest Storage, Data Center and IT Infrastructure Conference.
Steve Warren, Senior Systems & Project Engineer assigned to the Tampa Bay Lightning account will present “Providing Solid Defense for the Tampa Bay Lightning's Mission-Critical Data and Applications” on Wednesday, October 12th at 3 p.m..
The presentation will highlight how the Lightning's IT staff was utilizing tape backups, but found the process increasingly challenging due to shrinking backup windows, long recovery times and spotty reliability. The Lightning's most mission-critical application is Microsoft Exchange 2010 - the core application used for selling season tickets, conducting fan outreach, and important daily e-mail communications. Other tier one applications included the Blackberry enterprise server and distributed file servers, along with Great Plains accounting, financial and operations management software. The Lightning chose to implement a product with continuous data protection and IP-based architecture to achieve reliable, efficient and affordable backup without any of the weaknesses of tape-based backup, while accessing technology that meets stringent recovery time and recovery point objectives. As a result, the Lightning has eliminated backup windows, and critical data and applications, including Exchange and Blackberry Server, which are being protected and replicated to the off-site data center in Atlanta.
SNW takes place October 10-13th JW Marriott Grande Lakes in Orlando, Florida. For more information, on the event, please visit www.storagenetworkingworld.com or www.inmage.com.
