InMage Exhibits Data Continuity/Disaster Recovery Solution @ Storage Decisions
Flagship DR-Scout Software Ensures Integrity of Local and Remote Continuous Replication Processes that are Essential to Business Operations
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – STORAGE DECISIONS (Booth #311) – December 4, 2007 – InMage Systems, a leading provider of business continuity and disaster recovery (DR) software, today delivers the leading solution for local and remote continuous replication with the presentation of its flagship product DR-Scout at Storage Decisions. Based on patent-pending CDP technology, DR-Scout ensures that companies have a feature-rich, easy to manage software solution that can scale from small to large enterprises, addressing the key applications of disaster recovery, local recovery and application availability.
DR-Scout distinguishes itself as the pioneer of true event-based recovery. It is the only product on the market that delivers application-consistent recovery for any predetermined business event, locally and remotely, within any storage environment - even across distributed applications; whether it is a roll-back from a virus attack, review of a quarter-end transaction, or to failover a distributed Exchange environment, IT managers can use DR-Scout to ‘bookmark’ any event. Restoring to that event is as simple as pointing at the bookmark, and restoring the system to an alternate location, virtual server, or directly back into production. This feature, carried out with speed and simplicity, is a significant benefit for today’s companies.
DR-Scout can also recover to any point in time, taking less than a minute to generate a view of a volume as it existed an hour ago, or a file as it was a few seconds ago. This is a significant improvement from virtual tape libraries that have much larger recovery point and recovery time objectives. Continuous data availability and protection is provided simultaneously at primary and remote replication sites, in accordance with regulatory requirements such as Gramm-Leach-Bliley, Sarbanes-Oxley and SEC Rule 17a-4.
“Business-critical data and applications must be available around the clock, or serious disruption could result, ranging from lost revenue to complete shutdowns of companies unable to recover from a major data loss," said John Ferraro, CEO of InMage Systems. “In the past, the only way to address application availability was to perform regularly scheduled backups, with no regard to data consistency across geographical boundaries, and no ability to recover information based on a significant transaction or business-based activity. All this has changed. DR-Scout redefines the traditional day-to-day IT operations view of data protection and elevates it to the level of seamless alignment with business objectives."
Whether it is e-mail, databases or unstructured files, DR-Scout provides remote replication and continuous backup based on continuous data protection (CDP) technology. It offers bi-directional failover and recovery and simplified management, resulting in a near-zero’ recovery point objective (RPO) and recovery time objective (RTO). Another notable DR-Scout feature is application-consistent failover and failback. Critical applications - such as e-mail, messaging systems and enterprise databases – are automatically failed over from a primary site to a secondary site during disasters and everyday disruptions. This failover can take place in a matter of minutes, ensuring continuous availability and uninterrupted business operations. Block-level replication optimizes resources, while the host-offloaded architecture provides scalability.
Storage Decisions takes place December 4-6, 2007 at the Hilton San Francisco. The InMage exhibit will be located at booth #311.
