InMage Announces New Senior Vice President of Marketing Eric Burgener
Technology Industry Veteran to Lead Global Marketing Efforts
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – July 22, 2009 –InMage® (www.inmage.com), the leading independent software vendor of disk-based, business application recovery solutions for disaster recovery, today announced the appointment of technology industry veteran Eric Burgener as senior vice president of marketing. Mr. Burgener brings cross functional expertise to InMage that spans nearly 25 years in the high technology industry. He will lead all marketing activities, including product marketing and corporate communications, to ensure their ongoing contribution to and alignment with InMage’s business objectives.
“Planning for recovery, both local and remote, is a key strategic consideration for enterprises of all sizes, making it a top item for IT management year after year,” said Eric Burgener, senior vice president of marketing for InMage. “As next generation data protection technologies emerge, they are having a huge impact on the quality of recovery IT organizations can provide to their customers. With their technology offering, InMage is right in the middle of all that, making it a very exciting organization for me that is moving the industry in the right direction.”
Mr. Burgener has particular experience with emerging technologies, having worked extensively with continuous data protection, storage management and virtualization, high availability computing, and heterogeneous replication during their formative years. Prior to joining InMage, he served as a senior analyst and consultant with the Taneja Group, where he advised clients on data protection, archiving, data deduplication technologies, data protection management, and wide area data services. Mr. Burgener’s career experience also includes management positions with Mendocino Software, Topio, Veritas Software and Dell. He holds a BA degree from Bowdoin College and an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley.
“Eric's deep background in storage, combined with his experience in dealing with emerging technologies within startup organizations, make him an excellent fit for InMage,” said John Ferraro, president and CEO, InMage. “We plan to leverage Eric’s understanding of the recovery market, and how our own technologies meet critical needs there, to get our message out to customers that need us the most.”
