InMage Systems Presents Disaster Recovery Solutions for Linux Environments at Open Source World Conference and Expo
InMage’s Scout Software Provides Cost-Effective Remote Disaster Recovery That Supports Heterogeneous Environments
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – July 29, 2009 – InMage Systems®, Inc. (www.inmage.com), the leading independent software vendor of disk-based, business application recovery solutions for disaster recovery, will exhibit its flagship InMage Scout software at OpenSource World Conference and Expo. Taking place August 12-13 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, OpenSource World is the largest and most comprehensive event that focuses on Linux and open source software solutions. InMage’s exhibit will be located at booth #326.
“When deploying recovery solutions, regardless of whether they are local or remote, most companies struggle with the same set of concerns: managing backup windows, minimizing data loss on recovery, shortening recovery times, and improving recovery reliability,” said Eric Burgener, senior vice president of marketing, InMage Systems. “Scout uses a unique, hybrid recovery technology to address all four of those issues, in both disaster recovery and local backup configurations, while at the same time providing the option of eliminating tape-based operations entirely. Combined with our support for heterogeneous servers and storage – including DAS, NAS, and SAN - this provides a value proposition that companies using open source technology find very compelling.”
InMage Scout is an application and data recovery platform that supports remote disaster recovery, local backup elimination, and application failover/failback at both remote and local sites. Built around very efficient block-based replication, Scout also uses a number of other WAN optimization technologies to minimize the amount of data that needs to be sent across WANs to enable recovery operations. The result is a very flexible solution that preserves existing investments in servers and storage, provides maximum freedom of choice for new infrastructure purchases, and makes very efficient use of existing network bandwidth. Scout’s low impact design uses only a fraction of the host resources required by host-based replication products, does not require a SAN like many appliance-based products, and imposes no vendor lock-in like array-based replication products.
