InMage Presents Application-Consistent Recovery Solutions for Virtualized Environments at VMware Partner Exchange 2010
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – February 3, 2010 – InMage® (www.inmage.com), the leading independent software vendor of disk-based, business application recovery solutions for mid tier and larger enterprises, will present its market-leading application-consistent recovery solution for virtualized environments at the VMware® Partner Exchange being held February 8-11 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. InMage’s exhibit will be located at booth 23.
Recovery is becoming a critical issue as more and more enterprises deploy production applications in VMware environments. InMage provides enterprises with the same comprehensive data and application recovery features available in physical machine environments, but in a low overhead “protected server” package that is compatible with the way VMware servers are provisioned. InMage accomplishes this with a unique, hybrid recovery architecture that provides reliable, application-consistent recovery and yet imposes only a fraction of the overhead of traditional backup agents, making it a perfect fit for critical production applications running on VMware. InMage’s architecture is also more effective than the hypervisor-level approach, which imposes minimal overhead but cannot guarantee rapid, reliable recovery because it lacks an application consistency mechanism.
“Our unique approach arguably offers the best application-consistent recovery for VMware environments in the industry,” said Eric Burgener, senior vice president of marketing, InMage. “IDC is forecasting server virtualization to be almost a $3B industry by 2013, and with the cost and management benefits of server virtualization, enterprises will be moving more critical applications onto these platforms. With our low overhead, application-consistent recovery capabilities, InMage has already proven itself as the recovery method of choice on physical platforms and will likely do so on virtual platforms as well.”
