InMage Announces Platinum Sponsorship of Virtualization Deep Dive Day
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – February 11, 2010 – InMage® (www.inmage.com), the leading independent software vendor of disk-based, business application recovery solutions for mid tier and larger enterprises, is a platinum sponsor of the Virtualization Deep Dive Day, hosted by the Virtualization Group-Boston. This all-day virtualization event for the Northeast region will feature speakers from all over the country presenting high level content on virtualization best practices. The event will be held February 12 at Microsoft’s offices in Waltham, MA. InMage Regional Manager Steve O’Keefe will speak on “Low Overhead, Application-Consistent Recovery for Virtual Machine Environments” at 11:45 a.m.
InMage provides enterprises with the same comprehensive data and application recovery features available in physical machine environments, but in a low overhead “protected server” package that is compatible with the way virtualized servers are provisioned. InMage accomplishes this with a unique, hybrid recovery architecture that provides reliable, application-consistent recovery and yet imposes only a fraction of the overhead of traditional backup agents, making it a perfect fit for critical production applications running on virtualized servers. InMage’s architecture is also more effective than the hypervisor-level approach, which imposes minimal overhead but cannot guarantee rapid, reliable recovery because it lacks an application consistency mechanism.
The Virtualization Group–Boston exists in order to encourage an exchange of knowledge about all aspects of virtualization, green technology and cloud computing between IT professionals. The group fosters affiliation with similar virtualization groups located elsewhere to expand the reach of knowledge and training resources.
