SNW Names Interbank FX as a Finalist for Its Spring 2010 “Best Practices” Awards Program
- InMage’s Customer Interbank FX Recognized by SNW for Excellence in Storage Technology Based on Disaster Recovery Implementation -
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – April 12, 2010 – Interbank FX (www.ibfx.com), a leading provider of online off-exchange retail foreign currency (Forex/FX) trading services, and InMage, the leading independent software vendor of disk-based, business application recovery solutions for mid tier and larger enterprises, today announced that IBFX has been selected by SNW as a finalist for its Spring 2010 “Best Practices” Awards Program.
Interbank FX is a finalist in the category of Storage Resiliency, Data Protection and Recovery, and nominated for a deployment of InMage software designed to protect mission-critical trade servers and maintain business operations during downtime events. SNW’s “Best Practices” Awards Program identifies and acknowledges excellence among users of storage IT solutions and approaches. Five finalists and one winner in each category will be recognized during an Awards Ceremony taking place at SNW, April 12-15, 2010, at the Rosen Shingle Creek in Orlando, Florida.
SNW’s “Best Practices” Awards Program identifies and acknowledges excellence among users of storage technology in the following categories:
- Best Practices in Green Computing, Energy Efficiency and the Data Center
- Best Practices in Planning, Designing and Building a Next Generation Storage and Server Infrastructure
- Best Practices in Storage Resiliency, Data Protection and Recovery
- Best Practices in Technology Innovation and Promise
- Best Practices in Virtualization and Cloud Computing
“Data and storage networking initiatives are more challenging and crucial then ever before and is still one of the most important pillars of the IT infrastructure,” said Ellen Daly, senior vice president, events, IDG Enterprise. "The organizations and professionals judged to be Finalists in SNW’s Spring 2010 Best Practices’ Awards Program have not only met these challenges but are the best of the best when it comes to deploying the most strategic applications and using it to their advantage.”
“We are thrilled to be recognized as a SNW Best Practices Awards finalist,” said Paxton Powers, IT Infrastructure Manager at Interbank FX. “This deployment was a prime example of leveraging technology to achieve our business objectives. In this case, our main objective was to be able to recover our data center and remain operational during downtime events. InMage gave us that ability. In the trading business, time literally is money and every minute of downtime counts. We have peace of mind now that we’ve minimized the risk of impacting customers or revenue due to server downtime, whether it’s a simple failure or a natural disaster.”
