InMage Addresses Recovery for Mixed Physical/Virtual Server Environments at Microsoft Tech·Ed North America 2010
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – June 7, 2010 – InMage® (www.inmage.com) is presenting IT professionals with an integrated recovery solution to address Windows backup and disaster recovery requirements for mixed physical and virtual server environments at Microsoft Tech·Ed North America 2010. Using a simplified deployment model in Windows environments, InMage eliminates discrete backups, frees up significant administrator time by automating much of the data protection and recovery processes, and reduces costs by replacing multiple existing products (backup agents, replication software, clustering or failover software) with a single, centrally managed solution.
“Organizations that require application-consistent recovery options for mixed physical and virtual environments face many challenges in finding a single, low overhead recovery solution that covers all existing backup and disaster recovery requirements,” said Eric Burgener, senior vice president of product management for InMage. “It’s become clear that older, point-in-time based approaches to data protection that worked well on physical servers can’t just be transferred to virtual server environments. But disk-based ‘continuous’ technologies offer many options to address these requirements and make administrators’ lives much easier."
InMage is a Microsoft Certified Partner and has worked with Microsoft to provide extensive support for Windows applications and environments. InMage is integrated with Windows Volume Shadowcopy Services (VSS) and uses it to provide application-consistent recovery options for all the major Microsoft applications, including Exchange, SharePoint, SQL, and any NT file system (NTFS) based applications. InMage also supports application failover and failback of these same Microsoft applications out of the box, giving administrators options to recover both data and applications rapidly, reliably and without manual intervention. InMage also supports other key enterprise applications including Oracle, SAP and Blackberry Enterprise Server using these same capabilities.
Microsoft Tech·Ed North America 2010 takes place from June 7-10 at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center in. The InMage exhibit will be located at booth #1545.
