SANTA CLARA, Calif. – June 23, 2010 – InMage® (www.inmage.com), the leading independent software vendor of disk-based business application and disaster recovery solutions, today announced that Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer Kumar Malavalli has been named as one of CRN/ChannelWeb’s Storage Superstars 2010, which spotlights 10 of the individuals and groups that made the modern storage industry what it is today. Kumar Malavalli is widely considered to be a leading visionary in network storage fabrics, the fundamental technology that is behind the multi-billion dollar industry of storage networking. As a co-founder of InMage, he brings this visionary expertise to bear in developing data and application recovery solutions that are storage-agnostic and able to protect servers whether they are using direct-attached or network-attached storage.
“Storage networking has had a huge positive impact on the industry, and is a critical technology in supporting the performance, scalability and ubiquitous data access necessary to meet today’s business requirements,” said Kumar Malavalli, Co-Founder, Chairman, and Chief Strategy Officer at InMage Systems. “I’m honored to have been recognized as one of CRN’s 2010 Storage Superstars 2010 for my work in this area.”
Prior to InMage, Mr. Malavalli co-founded and was the CTO of Brocade Communications, the leading provider of storage area networking infrastructure, and he served in management and technical capacities at Amdahl, Canstar, and HP. He is a past chairman of the ANSI T11 Technical Committee, was inducted into the Silicon Valley Engineering Council Hall of Fame in 2003, received the prestigious INCITS award for extraordinary leadership in developing numerous SAN industry standards, and established the Kumar Malavalli Endowed Chair in Storage Systems Research at the University of California, Santa Cruz.
