InMage Wins Prestigious 2010 Red Herring Top 100 North America Award
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – June 29, 2010 – InMage® (www.inmage.com), the leading independent software vendor of disk-based, business application recovery solutions for mid tier and larger enterprises, has been named a winner of the 2010 Red Herring Top 100 North America awards. This prestigious award is given to the most promising private technology companies on the continent, as determined by the editorial team of Red Herring magazine. Past Red Herring 100 award winners have included some of the technology industry’s most well-recognized names, including Google, salesforce.com, Skype, Yahoo! and YouTube.
“The Red Herring 100 awards are well recognized in the technology industry for selecting the pioneers to watch,” said John Ferraro, CEO of InMage. “Winning this award is a strong validation of InMage’s success in transforming the technologies that provide the foundation for recovery capabilities in the backup, disaster recovery, and application availability markets for enterprises of all sizes.”
This year, nearly 1000 companies were nominated for the North America 2010 award, and 200 finalists were given the opportunity to make in-person presentations to the Red Herring editors in a three-day event held at the Hotel Del Coronado, in San Diego, California. At the awards dinner on June 24, Red Herring announced their selection for the Red Herring 100, identifying what they consider to be the most exciting private companies from both a technology and an investment perspective.
“Choosing the companies with the strongest potential was by no means a small feat,” said Alex Vieux, publisher and CEO of Red Herring. “After rigorous contemplation and discussion, we narrowed our list down from hundreds of candidates from across North America to the Top 100 Winners. We believe InMage embodies the vision, drive and innovation that define a successful entrepreneurial venture. InMage should be proud of its accomplishment, as the competition was very strong.”
Extremely high data growth rates, coupled with stringent recovery requirements and an increasingly complex IT environment, are presenting significant data protection challenges that legacy technologies cannot overcome. InMage provides a simple alternative to the “rube goldberg” patchwork of existing approaches by providing a single, centrally managed solution that covers all recovery requirements for both data and applications, and excels in the heterogeneous environments that are a mainstay of enterprise computing. InMage’s simple, scalable, low overhead approach typically pays for itself within a year, and is taking off like wildfire in mid tier and larger organizations that struggle with protecting and recovering mixed environments.
“I’m honored that InMage was selected as a Red Herring Top 100 winner for 2010,” said Kumar Malavalli, founder and chief strategy officer, InMage. “We formed InMage to effectively address high data growth by providing a recovery solution that would accommodate an increasingly heterogeneous environment, in terms of both servers and storage. Today’s industry trends are driving more and more enterprises to adopt the next generation recovery technologies we offer.”
