InMage Highlights All-in-One Recovery Solution for Virtual Environments at VMworld 2010

InMage is an all-in-one recovery solution for VMware environments that handles backup, disaster recovery, and application failover/failback. InMage replaces multiple prod­ucts, including backup agents, replication software, and failover products, creating a simpler and lower cost alternative that offers the same benefits across both physical and virtual server environments.

Because InMage uses a technology called continuous data protection (CDP) to capture data from servers continuously and in real time, backup windows are completely eliminated and the overhead associated with data protection operations drops to 2-3% per system, a model perfect for VMware environments.  InMage integrates out-of-the-box with application snapshot APIs so that it can mark application-consistent recovery points, called “AppShots”, in the CDP data stream, giving administrators the option of recovering from any previous point in time to minimize data loss or marked AppShots for speed (or a mix of both). This results in the best application-consistent recovery for VMware environments in the industry. Additionally, InMage offers the flexibility to support multiple operat­ing systems, multiple VM environments, and any kind of underlying storage (DAS, SAN, or NAS).
